Close the windows and doors - This seems intuitive but double-checking the day of the washing is the best practice.  While washing we are concentrating on the siding and may not see that a window or screen door has been left open until it is too late. 

Remove the screens in your windows - This allows us to get your windows cleaner because the dirt and debris is not held in by the screens.  Additionally, we can see the window and the window well better so we can ensure that everything is clean. 

Clear a path - We will be circumnavigating your home.  You will want to move objects away from the side of the house.  Cleaning off the patio, deck and porch is advised as well. 

Pets and Children - Please inform your children that we will be washing the house.  We have awakened a few sleeping teens and surprised a few more sunbathers.  As funny as it may be, in hindsight, it surprises us as much as them. 

Pets should be kept inside or given the day off of guard duty.  We like pets; it is just hard to work when they are barking at the equipment.  Never wash a pet with a pressure washer; it can tear up their skin.  Don't laugh too hard, people have asked us to this.

Water Your Plants - If possible, water the plants and grass around your home for two days prior to having your house washed.  This is an extra precaution to ensure that the soap being used or the material coming off of your home will not affect the landscaping.  Plants absorb as much water as they need, so if they are "full" the plants are less likely to absorb water during the house washing.
